We created Bahr-Bikini with a deep conviction: every woman who chooses to cover up while swimming deserves a garment that is just as beautiful, just as high-performing and just as desirable as any other swimsuit.
Our Story
How it all began.
Bahr-Bikini was born from a simple observation: it was impossible to find a modest swimsuit that was both technically high-performing, aesthetically desirable and genuinely designed for modern swimming. Available burkinis were either functional but austere, or more aesthetic but sacrificing technical performance.
We took the time to truly understand what women expected from a modest swimsuit: a certified UV protection, a fabric that stays opaque when wet, a flattering cut, colours inspired by real fashion trends and total freedom of movement to swim without constraint.
The result: Bahr-Bikini. A modest swimsuit that proves modesty and style are not only compatible — they can bring out the best in each other.
The brand name
Bahr-Bikini: a chosen etymology.
The name Bahr-Bikini was not chosen by chance. Each component carries a precise meaning that embodies the philosophy of our French brand.
Bahr
In Arabic, 'Bahr' means sea or ocean. A universal word that evokes freedom, the immensity of water and anchors the brand in a Mediterranean sensibility.
Bikini
The universal word for swimsuit, recognised in every language. By pairing it with Bahr, we affirm that our modest swimsuit belongs fully to the world of beachwear.
